Karina Fischer: flute; Paola Muñoz: recorder
MOVIMIENTO PARALELO
The duo formed by Karina Fischer and Paola Muñoz was born in 2013, after the world premiere in Chile of the homonymous piece by Italian composer Gabriele Manca. Both performers have developed different research and creation projects guided by the motivation of reencountering these two instrumental families and unveil a universe of not-yet explored sounding possibilities.
This first album gathers Latin American composers and music focused on bass-flute and Paetzold and Helder recorders.
Movimiento paralelo has specially worked in Chile, in different concerts, in contemporary music festivals and radial broadcast spaces. At the same time, they have led an important educational labour in national universities and diverse musical education centres.
Movimiento paralelo is interested in expanding the chamber music repertoire for both families of flutes, creating a space in which research, performance, reflection and artistic dissemination coalesce.
